I thought it would be useful to others if I were to list some of my preferred airlines here. I take many weekend trips and short romantic holidays around Europe so this might help others too!
European cheap airlines:
EasyJet – For cheap flights these guys do pretty okay. Not so romantic are the plastic chairs, but for short hauls we can manage.
Ryanair – I loath them, but they are cheap. I still loath them. If they start to charge for going to the toilet, then it’s time to forget them no matter the price.
German wings – This is German efficiency, the flight prices are low, and the people friendly.
Iberia – Spanish airline that I often check for short hop euro flights. Sometimes they beat out the big cheap airlines!
Click air – another cheapy I often try for short weekends away. They offer flights to smaller cities, so for that romantic get away to low key places they are ideal!
Cheap flight search engines -
Skyscanner – A top notch all round search engine for flights. I use it as a first stop for most flights. It’s easy to use, and fast; meaning I an plan out lots of great breaks away.
Wegolo - Another good flight search engine. It’s a little hard to get into, but if you use it often enough it can turn out some winners.
Kayak - I use Kayak for long haul flights. They tend to miss out on low budget airlines, but they still cover a lot.
